The declaration is the most realistic and reasonable programme common to the nation as it is based on the idea of By Our Nation Itself and the principle of independence and reflects the intention and desire of the entire nation and meets the requirement of the international community aspiring after the peace and reunification on the Korean Peninsula.

It is also a programme of independent reunification in the era of Kim Jong Un, the new historic one, successor to the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration provided by leader Kim Jong Il.

It is a historic declaration through which to declare that the north and the south would make a new history of national reconciliation and usher in a new era of common prosperity by their concerted efforts.

It is a crucial one which made a new breakthrough in ensuring peace and security not only in the Korean peninsula but also in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world and brought about a dramatic diastrophic change in the international political trend.

Only when the declaration is implemented sincerely, can one expect the development of the inter-Korean ties and the bright future of the peace and independent reunification in the peninsula.
