Immortal Party Building Exploits Which Will Shine with Human Cause of Independence

A revolutionary party which has been strengthened and developed into the party of the leader and thoroughly carries his ideas and guidance into effect can perform its mission and role creditably in any storm and stress.

This precious truth has been clearly proved by the proud course of the Workers’ Party of Korea, which fully demonstrates its dignity and might to the whole world.

Our Party has powerfully been able to forward the cause of socialism, the cause of human independence, enjoying high prestige and demonstrating its invincible might. This is unthinkable without the outstanding leadership of Chairman Kim Jong Il who has developed the WPK into the one and only powerful party of the world.

In the mid-20th century modern revisionism was rearing its head in some socialist countries and seriously damaging the activities of their working-class parties and their social life as a whole.

Worse still, modern revisionists undisguisedly repudiated the leadership of the party, the General Staff of the revolution, openly slandering the authority and prestige of the leader and his achievements as well and ignoring his position and role in the carrying out of the revolutionary cause of the working class.

Imperialists wildly applauded the modern revisionists for this hell-bent on malignant propaganda against socialism.

Under this complex international situation Kim Jong Il started his work at the Central Committee of the WPK. He solemnly declared that our Party was unimaginable without the august name of President Kim Il Sung and should invariably be strengthened and developed into his glorious Party forever not only in the past and in the present but also in the future.

He then proceeded to devote all his energies to strengthening and developing our Party into the revolutionary Party of Juche type firmly determined to do so.

Nobody had so far built a revolutionary party into a party of the leader.

No solution could be found to the numerous relevant theoretical and practical problems either in any classics or in the actualities of any country.

Kim Jong Il is a peerlessly great man who perfectly solved all the problems of strengthening and developing our Party into the Party of Kim Il Sung’s.

Kim Jong Il safeguarded the purity of Kim Il Sung’s revolutionary ideas and developed and enriched them with prodigious ideological and theoretical activities, thus providing a firm guarantee for imbuing our Party and revolutionary ranks with one ideology.

He declared that it was the highest program of the Party to imbue the whole society with Kimilsungism and set it forth as the strategic line of party building to imbue the whole Party with Kimilsungism. This effected a turn in ensuring that our Party was that of Kim Il Sung forever.

The work of establishing the monolithic ideological system of the Party and its monolithic leadership system has been conducted endlessly in depth. Consequently, the whole Party, ranging from its central committee to its basic organizations and members, has been strengthened into an pure ideological entity whose thought and action are based on the ideas and purpose of the leader alone and an integral organizational whole which is faithful to his guidance alone.

It is none other than Kim Jong Il who ensured that the guiding ideology of the Party was newly prescribed in the Party rules.

He met an official of the Party Central Committee one September day in 1970. He said that he had long thought of newly formulating the guiding ideology of our Party in its rules and that he was going to do that at the upcoming 5th Congress of the WPK when it would amend and supplement the rules.

The official could not but be surprised at this because neither political parties which existed in the history of mankind nor the parties of the socialist countries had so far laid down their guiding ideology clearly in their rules.

In those days the parties of the socialist countries regarded the preceding theories as the absolute truth of revolution and construction. Therefore, nobody could dare think of specifying our Party’s guiding ideology anew in its rules.

That day, Kim Jong Il told the official with confidence that the guiding ideology of our Party which would be adopted and laid down in its rules at its congress was the immortal Juche Idea founded by Kim Il Sung.

Consequently, our Party solemnly declared its revolutionary nature at its historic 5th Congress and started its dynamic advance forward although all the other working-class parties in the world adhered to the preceding theories as the absolute truth of revolution and construction and their guiding ideal.

In his answers to the questions raised by the General Director of the Cuban newspaper “Granma” in October 1989 Kim Jong Il said that it was fundamental to strengthening the Party to firmly achieve its ideological and volitional unity and cohesion round the leader and that the unity and cohesion of the Party based on a single revolutionary ideology was its lifeline. He added that the Party could attain its unbreakable unity and cohesion and satisfactorily fulfill its mission only when its monolithic ideology and leadership was surely ensured.

This has served as important guidelines on the building of revolutionary parties.

Despite the epoch-making collapse of socialism in many countries late in the 20th century the WPK has since distinguished itself dignifiedly as the Party of Kim Il Sung and firmly defended the socialism of our style. This testifies the immortal exploits performed by Kim Jong Il in the history of revolutionary party building and the world socialist movement.

Kim Jong Il published large numbers of immortal classical works to strengthen and develop our Party and further the cause of socialism and human independence. They include “The Historical Lesson in Building Socialism and the General Line of Our Party”, “On the Fundamentals of Revolutionary Party Building”, “Abuses of Socialism Are Intolerable”, “Socialism Is a Science”, etc.

They are the precious fruition of his extraordinary ideological and theoretical sagacity, endless devotion and colossal efforts.

On reading the works the communist parties, workers’ parties and other progressive political parties of different countries highly spoke of them as “textbooks for building a Juche-oriented party” and “invaluable guidelines on the construction and activities of a revolutionary party” and conducted movements to learn from the DPRK, the fortress and bulwark of socialism.

They competitively visited our country and held bilateral and multilateral WPK-led talks there. They also strengthened their revolutionary international unity and solidarity in every way under the banner of Pyongyang Declaration on defending and advancing the cause of socialism.

The undying services rendered by Kim Jong Il to the cause of socialism and human independence will shine forever in the hearts of our people and the progressive peoples of the world.
