State Academic Degrees and Titles Conferred on Intellectuals 

 

State academic degrees and titles were conferred on the intellectuals who contributed to the economic development, the improvement of the people's standard of living and the education of the rising generation by devoting their wisdom and zeal to scientific research for implementing the five-year plan, true to the idea and spirit of the Party congress and plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee.

The title of Academician went to Kim Haeng Son, a teacher of Kim Chaek University of Technology, and the title of Candidate Academician to Kwak Son Il, a teacher of Kim Il Sung University, Sin Jae Yong, dean of a faculty of Kim Chaek University of Technology, Jang Ui Jun, a teacher of Kim Chaek University, Ri Myong Chol, vice-rector of Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, Choe Jong Su, a researcher of Phyongsong University of Coal Mining, and Kong Myong Song, director of an institute of the Academy of Social Sciences.

Professorship was conferred on Jo Kil Hyon, department head of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Hyon, vice-director of an institute at Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, Ri Jin U, a teacher of Pyongyang University of Architecture, Kim Yong, dean of a faculty at the University of Sciences, and Sim Yong Nam, section chief of the Academy of Forest Science, and other persons.

Doctorate went to Kim Kyong Ho, head of a department of Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, Jo Won Song, section chief of the University of Sciences, and Yun Jong Ju, a teacher of the University of National Economy, and other persons.

185 persons received associate professorship and 632 master's degree.
