The Souvenir Stone Slabs from Progressive Mankind

The Tower of the Juche Idea soars high on the bank of the Taedong River opposite the Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK. It is the highest stone tower in the world.

It was erected and unveiled in April 1982 on the occasion of the 70th birthday of President Kim Il Sung.

Enslaved by the Juche idea a large number of precious and rare stone slabs have so far been donated to the tower for about half a century by heads of state of many foreign countries, foreign political Parties and organizations, international organizations, and personages from all social strata, including political and public figures.

The 300-odd stone slabs from over 100 countries have been fixed to the walls of the anteroom to the tower’s stylobate.

Each of the stone slabs manifests the desire of progressive mankind for an independent new world brightly illuminated by the Juche idea.
