Chongryu Restaurant Marks Its 40th Founding Anniversary

Chongryu Restaurant marked its 40th founding anniversary.

President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the public catering center, which was built in a peculiar way on a bank of the Pothong River, on December 6, Juche 70(1981) and expressed great satisfaction, calling it a restaurant which can stand comparison with famous ones in other parts of the world, and gave it the meaningful name Chongryu Restaurant.

At Chongryu Restaurant which was built as a comprehensive national food service base for the people under the care of the President and the Chairman, service workers, employees and officials have made brilliant records in 40-year-long history of its development with sincere service activities and laudable successes conducive to the development of the culinary culture of the country and improvement of the dietary life of the people.

A meeting was held on December 6 to convey the letter of congratulations sent by the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to the employees and officials of Chongryu Restaurant who greeted the 40th founding anniversary.

The Central Committee of the WPK in the letter highly appreciated the merits of service workers, employees and officials of the restaurant who devoted themselves to the happiness of the people and the development of the culinary culture peculiar to our nation by firmly holding their revolutionary posts and exerting themselves to the utmost to the service activities with boundless loyalty to the leader and the spirit of devotedly serving the people.

Attending the meeting were O Su Yong, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, and officials and employees of the restaurant.
