The man in the photo is People’s Artist Ri Ryul Son. The 90-year-old man is a war veteran and a disabled honored soldier.
During the Fatherland Liberation War(1950-1953) he fought bravely against the US imperialists with burning hatred and lost one of his legs in a battle.
Although he was disabled he graduated from a university and since then he has taught students for over 40 years implanting in them ardent patriotism while continuing his creative work.
The Party made him known by the people and the era.
He actively promoted the traditional techniques of the Korean painting and made great contributions to the education of the rising generation. Therefore, he was awarded the valuable honorary title.
At present, the older he gets, the more vigorous he becomes and keeps carrying out his creative activities under the warm care of the motherly Party.
