Agricultural workers and members of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) held a meeting at the cultural hall in Migok-ri, Sariwon City of North Hwanghae Province on Tuesday to celebrate the 81st birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Present at the meeting were Min Sung Chol, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), Ri Il Hyok, secretary of the North Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the WPK, officials concerned, officials of the UAWK and agricultural workers.

Ri Yong Chol, vice-chairman of the UAWK Central Committee, made a report to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said that Kim Jong Il’s birth in Mt Paektu, the sacred mountain of revolution, is a great good luck of the Korean nation which promised the rosy future of Juche Korea and a world historic event that opened up a bright prospect of the human cause of independence.

They said that Kim Jong Il hewed out an untrodden path with his iron will and superhuman energy, holding aloft the red flag of the revolution all his life, and laid the eternal foundation for building a powerful socialist country.

They stressed that the immortal revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il are shining more brilliantly under the outstanding guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, another peerlessly great man.

They referred to the fact that the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un set forth the programme for rural revolution in a new era and has wisely led the struggle to achieve the rapid development of the Korean-style socialist countryside.

They called upon all the union officials and members to dedicate themselves to devotedly implementing the behests of Kim Jong Il and the idea and intention of the Party, bearing deep in mind the immutable truth that they will surely emerge victorious as they are led by the respected General Secretary.
