Tonics to War Veterans and Disabled Soldiers

War veterans and disabled soldiers in several dongs of Sinuiju City received tonics packed in cartons greeting the New Year 2023 from Jong Yon Ok, head of the Chonbyon-dong Polyclinic, and her husband.

The tonics packed in cartons convey the following story.

When Jong Yon Ok was appointed as the head of the polyclinic, she studied the list of residents under her charge. She learned that dozens of war veterans and disabled soldiers are residing in the area under the charge of her polyclinic.

She felt that she assumed a heavy responsibility for the health of those war veterans and disabled soldiers whom our Party deeply loves as treasures of the country.

One day she told her husband her intention to prepare tonics and send to the war veterans and disabled soldiers.

Her husband, who is a medical worker at a hospital in Sinuiju City, fully supported his wife’s determination. He called upon his wife to fulfill the duty of medical workers together, like their real children and brothers.

So, the couple sincerely prepared tonics and sent them to the war veterans and disabled soldiers on the New Year 2023. Such good deeds continued on the Day of Army Founding.

The war veterans and disabled soldiers who received tonics say that they always feel the love of our Party seeing such goodhearted medical workers and that the socialist health system in our country is the best, indeed.

Being Called "Our Mother"

Choe Yong Jon has long worked as an official of the women’s union in Unha-dong No. 1 in Sariwon City although she is over 60.

However, she is called “our mother” by members of the women’s union. They know well that Choe Yong Jon finds a great pleasure in devoting herself to others.

Following are stories telling her sincerity.

Among them were two women who had been in straits because of the housing problem until several months ago. Choe was the first one who learned their trouble.

She opened her heart to officials and members of the women’s union who were conducting shock brigade activities in construction sites.

Then all of them turned out for the work to make blocks. Days after, they went to the houses of the two women with blocks.

The house owners were moved to tears by sincerity of Choe Yong Jon.

She also encouraged a member of the women’s union who lost her son by an unexpected accident during the fulfilling military task to carry forward the spirit of the bereaved family of a patriot.

It is none other than Choe Yong Jon who sat up many nights for the living condition of a woman taking care of a war-wounded mother-in-law.
