National Art Exhibition Opens

A national art exhibition for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953) opened with due ceremony at the Okryu Exhibition House on Monday.

Displayed at the venue of the exhibition are art pieces depicting President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who won a historic victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and achieved one victory after another in the confrontation with imperialism and the U.S that have lasted for centuries.

Art pieces deal with the feats of the President who led the Fatherland Liberation War to a shining victory, created the myth of miracles startling the world and firmly defended the dignity and honor of the DPRK.

The pieces remind the visitors of the immortal revolutionary history of Kim Jong Il who firmly carried forward the history and tradition of war victory by resolutely frustrating the imperialists’ moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK under the uplifted banner of independence and Songun.

The oil painting "Comrade Kim Jong Un, the illustrious commander of Mt Paektu", shows the great personality of Kim Jong Un who has achieved the great historic cause of completing the state nuclear force, covering the ceaseless journey of patriotic devotion and self-sacrificing inspection to the front and thus turned the DPRK into a world-class nuclear power and military power no one dares to provoke.

On display at the venue of the exhibition are works dealing with the daily-changing appearance of the country under the guidance of the Central Committee of the great Workers’ Party of Korea and the struggle of the Korean people who are dynamically opening up a turning phase of the state’s prosperity by inheriting the indomitable spirit of the preceding generations, true to the resolutions of the plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee.

Present at the ceremony were Choe Chang Hak, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee, officials of ministries and national institutions, officials and creators in the field of fine art and working people in the municipality.

Vice-Premier Kim Song Ryong made an opening address.
