Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, sent a congratulatory speech to the participants in the meeting for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Korean people’s victory in the Fatherland Liberation War on the occasion of the war victory day.
The speech is as follows:
Respected His Excellency
Dear friends,
I extend heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Korean people’s victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
In the 1950-1953 fierce battles, the soldiers of the Korean People’s Army overcame all trials and defended the freedom and independence of the country under the leadership of Supreme Commander Comrade
The Soviet soldiers including the pilots who carried out tens of thousands of combat flights made a weighty contribution to annihilating the enemy, fighting shoulder to shoulder with patriots of Korea.
The historical experience of militant friendship gained in this course is of precious value and serves as a reliable basis for further developing the ties between Russia and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the political, economic and security fields.
It is especially important to value and enrich the proud tradition of friendship, good neighborliness and mutual assistance in the face of the threats and challenges of the present times.
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s firm support to the special military operation against Ukraine and its solidarity with Russia on key international issues highlight our common interests and determination to counter the policy of the Western group which hinders the establishment of the truly multipolarized and just world order based on the inseparability of the predominance of the international law and security, and the respect for the sovereignty and national interests of the states.
His Excellency
I wish you good health and success in your responsible activities for the well-being of the friendly Korean people.
I wish all the participants in the meeting well-being and peace.
