The Asia-Pacific regional meeting of the World Peace Council, held in Katmandu of Nepal on July 26 and 27, expressed support to the just cause of the DPRK people.
Noting that peace is not yet ensured in the Korean Peninsula, a report on the regional politics, submitted to the meeting, condemned the military drills of the U.S. and its vassal forces, the source of the escalation of tensions, and demanded that the U.S. forces be withdrawn from the region along with their weapons.
A resolution for solidarity with the DPRK people was adopted at the meeting.
The resolution said that the meeting denounces all moves of the imperialists opposing the DPRK people and supports the efforts of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity from the threat of foreign forces.
Hoping that the Korean Armistice Agreement would be replaced with a peace accord in keeping with international law and the free will of the DPRK people, the resolution extended support and solidarity to the DPRK people in their struggle for defending their country to the last.
In the Katmandu declaration issued on July 28, the Confederation of Lawyers of Asia and Pacific referred to the fact that the U.S. and its vassal forces have imposed sanctions on the DPRK for decades to stifle it. And it stressed that the Korean Peninsula issue should be solved as soon as possible.
