The project for expanding waterway tunnel was completed successfully in Tanchon City.
The city pushed ahead with the project after setting it as one of this year’s goals to propel the building of the Pukchon Power Station No.9.
It was not easy to build the medium-sized power station with a waterway tunnel of over 1 100 meters and a generating ability of thousands of kilowatts.
But officials and working people in the city turned out as one in the struggle for thoroughly implementing the Party decision without fail.
In keeping with the upsurging enthusiasm of the masses, the city mapped out a detailed plan for completing the waterway tunnel project.
In particular, it directed big efforts to increasing the proportion of the mechanization.
Builders increased the working speed by ensuring the full operation of borer and compressor.
And they introduced the rational working methods capable of ensuring both the speed and quality of the construction and carrying out the daily plan without fail, thus completing the project.
