50th Founding Anniversary of People’s Palace of Culture Marked in DPRK

The People’s Palace of Culture marked its 50th founding anniversary.
President Kim Il Sung, who had already worked out a far-reaching plan for the construction of the People’s Palace of Culture after the war, personally chose the site for the palace in June Juche 59 (1970) and visited it 77 times in the whole period of his revolutionary career to solve all the big and small problems arising in the construction and management of the palace.
Chairman Kim Jong Il ensured that the palace fulfilled its mission and duty as a comprehensive base for the cultural and emotional life of the people.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un saw to it that a congratulatory message of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) was sent to the palace on the occasion of its 40th founding anniversary, and dispatched capable construction force to it to remodel it as required by the new century.
A meeting was held on December 31 last year to mark the 50th founding anniversary of the palace.
Present there were officials concerned and officials and employees of the palace.
Pak Hui Chol, curator of the palace, made a report at the meeting.
