In the morning of the hope-filled New Year, Jonwi Street under construction overflowed with youthful enthusiasm.

Shock brigade members, who used to greet the New Year’s Day in their homeland respectively, were full of pride and their hearts leapt with joy as they saw in the New Year at the construction site, to which our Party pays special attention and where they built a new youth monument.

Among them are those of the Pakchon County Battalion under North Phyongan Provincial Brigade who had achieved high results last December.

Thinking over how to greet the New Year’s Day after receiving the impressive news of the 9th Plenum of the 8th Party Central Committee, the battalion members decided to ring in the New Year on the roof of the apartment they had erected by devoting all their wisdom and enthusiasm.

At 00:00 on January 1, with the display of fireworks in the sky above, the capital city vividly showed its beautiful snow scene.

Looking at the splendid appearance of the capital city, they pictured the happy people who would live before long in the street they have built. Meanwhile, they stiffened their resolution to bring earlier the day of completion.

They sang the song “Song of Youth” led by Kang Nam Hun and Hong Chol Myong, who had participated in the celebrations of V-Day last year in the presence of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

Every battalion member including Ri Wi Song and Jo Myong Min, the youngest of the battalion and those who had the honour of becoming a member of the Workers’ Party of Korea during the days of construction burnt their hearts with the ardent ardor to do more work keeping deep in their minds the great trust of the Party.
