True to the idea and spirit of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the sports sector of the DPRK is designing and operating this year’s work in an innovative way.

The Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports has taken measures to raise the level of national competitions and put sports on a mass and daily basis and thus further boost the enthusiasm for sports across the country and put the teaching and training on a scientific and IT basis of higher level and thus win more medals in international games.

Sports science research and education units set development goals for training competent sportspersons by making research successes conducive to developing specialized sports techniques and improving the quality of sports education and have organized the work for their implementation.

Discussed are practical issues for building and remodeling the sports facilities on a modern basis, pushing ahead with the work to expand the production capacity and improve the quality of products at sports apparatuses production units and boosting sports exchange.

The Korean Taekwon-Do Committee concentrates all its efforts on improving the selection system with the main emphasis on training more good reserves and steadily improving the teaching training and guidance on the basis of modern sports science and technology to achieve greater successes in coming international games.
