A meeting took place to mark the 10th anniversary of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un’s field guidance to the State Academy of Sciences on January 13.

Present there were Ri Chol Yong, chief secretary of the Party Committee of the State Academy of Sciences, scientists, technicians and employees.

Kim Sung Jin, president of the State Academy of Sciences, made a report.

The reporter said that January 14, Juche 103 (2014), when the respected General secretary Kim Jong Un left sacred footprints of leadership at the State Academy of Sciences, served as an important turning point in making science and technology become the locomotive of socialist construction for propelling the building of a prosperous and powerful country.

He noted that the General Secretary took benevolent measures to build modern apartment houses for scientists and personally chose the site of the scientists’ holiday camp on the shore of the scenic Lake Yonphung and showed great loving care for them.

The scientists and technicians of the academy have devoted all their wisdom and passion to the patriotic work for modernizing industrial establishments in different fields of the national economy, ensuring the domestic supply and production of raw and other materials and equipment, and perfecting the self-supporting economic structure over the past decade, he said.

He called upon the officials, scientists and technicians of the academy to display the revolutionary spirit in their research work and thus defend the Party policies and guarantee the dynamic advance in the era of our state-first principle, holding high the slogan "Let us unite with patriotism!"
