Enlarged plenary meetings of Pyongyang municipal and provincial Party committees took place from January 10 to 13 to implement the resolutions of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).

Members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and members and alternate members of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee guided the plenary meetings respectively.

Present there were members and alternate members of the provincial Party committees. Officials of the Party and power organs and administrative and economic bodies in the relevant regions attended the meetings as observers.

Reports were made at the plenary meetings.

The plenary meetings analyzed and reviewed the successes and experience, some deviations and lessons in the last year’s work for implementing the Party resolutions.

They put forward the goals and tasks to be attained this year without fail under the uplifted slogan "Let us unite with patriotism!" on the basis of the contention that their implementation will be thoroughly guaranteed, consolidating the successes achieved through the three-year struggle for carrying out the important tasks set forth by the Eighth Congress of the Party.

The meetings called upon all Party organizations and officials to firmly maintain and further boost the high spirit displayed in the last year’s struggle and advance and dynamically conduct the organizational and political work for successfully attaining the goals for this year.

At the plenary meetings, the reporters stressed the need for the Party organizations and officials to always keep in mind the demand of the revolution, the aspiration of the times and the expectation of the people and wage a bold struggle for implementing the resolutions of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th WPK Central Committee by dint of patriotism and unity.

The reports were followed by speeches.

At the plenary meetings, there were sectional consultative meetings to further detail the goals of struggle set for their regions and draw up the plans for thoroughly implementing them on the basis of the important tasks and policy of advance set forth at the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th WPK Central Committee.
