First Success of Coal Miners in Jikdong

The February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine held a meeting of employees on the morning when they received the news of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee. At the meeting innovators from various units of the mine mounted the platform to call upon all the coal miners to display the honor of Jikdong colliers again in the hopeful new year upholding the vital task set forth by the Party.

After the meeting the coal miners headed toward the coal face in fine array. Reflected on the faces of coal miners were vigor and enthusiasm foradvancing forward vigorously along the road of building prosperous country without moment’s conceit and marking time.

That day the coal mine over-fulfilled the daily coal production plan. It was a fruition brought about by the ardent enthusiasm of the Jikdong coal miners who respond to the call of the Party with brave practice.

Inexhaustible Desire for Work

On the afternoon of Dec. 31 last year Jo Ryong Su, a sheet metal workteam leader of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex, felt glad at the work result of the day. Because his workteam members were full of high enthusiasm for producing accessories needed for construction of the energy-saving oxygen heat blast furnace. When such atmosphere lasted all day long, they could over-fulfilled their daily plan twice.

At that time the welders drew close to him and presented plans to innovate the work.

They said with excitement that as they were receiving the news of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee, they thought that their results till then were a drop in the ocean compared to what the working class of the Ryongsong Machine Complex performed.

Jo Ryong Su was so moved by their words as their minds aspiring to higher production goal made them look better. Indeed, the desire for work of the working class of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex has no limit.

Trouble of Workshop Manager

On the day of receiving the news of the 9th Plenum of the 8th Party Central Committee Jo Chol Yon, a workshop manager of the Haeju Tractor Parts Factory, fell in deep thought, because he was in a dilemma over whom he should recommend to the meeting of congratulating innovators.

He guessed longtime skilled workers would top the list of innovators; however, all the workers ranging from the longtime skilled workers to the newcomers were producing good results in production of tractor parts.

A newcomer said to him that the Party Central Committee ardently called for more dynamically struggling in unity with patriotism at its plenary meeting, and he also should respond to its call by making innovation.

In consequence, all the workers were innovators.

So, whom should he recommend? - it was a trouble of a workteam manager.

Indeed, his trouble shows the ardent patriotism of working class of the factory to shoulder heavy burden for the country.
