The 8th enlarged plenary meeting of the 9th Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) took place on Thursday.

Present there were members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the UAWK. And officials of the UAWK in Pyongyang and local areas attended the meeting as observers.

The meeting discussed the issue of thoroughly implementing the resolutions of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the issue of carrying through the tasks set forth in the important speech made by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the 5th National Conference of Mothers.

Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the UAWK, made a report on the issues raised.

He analyzed and reviewed the last year’s work of the UAWK organizations and referred to the measures for more vigorously conducting the work of the union.

He called upon all the women members of the union to devote themselves to filling the country’s granary and make due efforts to the education of their children to bring them up to be patriotic and loyal subjects who think first of the Party and revolution, the country and the people.

Speakers expressed their determination to fulfill their duty in achieving sustained development of the country’s agriculture true to the Party’s plan for socialist rural construction.

The meeting adopted relevant resolutions on the basis of the study of draft resolutions.
