The 9th enlarged plenary meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) took place on Thursday.

Attending it were members and alternate members of the GFTUK Central Committee. GFTUK officials in Pyongyang and local areas were present as observers.

The meeting discussed the issue of thoroughly implementing the resolutions of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the issue of carrying through the tasks set forth in the important speech made by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the 5th National Conference of Mothers.

Pak In Chol, chairman of the GFTUK Central Committee, made a report on the issues of discussion.

He reviewed the successes, experience, deviation and lesson made in the GFTUK’s 2023 work for implementing the resolutions of the 8th WPK Congress and referred to the ways for the GFTUK to creditably fulfill its mission and duty in this year’s gigantic struggle for securing a practical guarantee for the implementation of the Five-Year Plan for national economic development.

The reporter underlined the tasks facing the GFTUK organizations at all levels and officials in making all the women members fulfill their duties before families and society deeply mindful of the benevolence of the Party which glorifies the dignity and position of mothers on the highest level.

Then followed speeches.

The meeting adopted relevant resolutions on the basis of the study of draft resolutions.
