Pledge of a Shock Brigade Member

In the end of November last year a shock brigade member Kim Chung Sok was sent to the field medical team of the Tanchon Power Station Construction Division.

He was in critical condition. Jang Kum Chol, a doctor of the Pyongyang University of Medicine Teaching Hospital who doubles as a doctor of field medical team, and other medical workers buckled down to the treatment as soon as possible.

Thanks to the ardent devotion and warm sincerity of medical workers, the patient turned the corner and his health got improved day by day. During those days the medical workers attended to the patient day and night and shock brigade members including Choe Yong Myong from the Songwon County Battalion of the Jagang Provincial Brigade visited the patient with tonics.

Looking at those people paying attention to his health painstakingly, Kim Chung Sok was so grateful to be moved to tears. They seemed his real parents and siblings to him.

When he returned to the post after restoration of health, he expressed his surging emotion that he would devote his all to construction of the power station for our harmonious socialist country.

Touching Story Told by a "Family Photograph"

Kang Yun Ok, a war veteran residing in the 4th People’s Neighborhood Unit of Changphyong-dong, Rajin District, has a "family photograph". It has a story.

Several months ago old Kang marked her birthday. Many people visited her to celebrate the female veteran’s birthday and were impressed by wonderful birthday spread. The birthday spread was offered by the family of Kim Song Hui working at the Rajin Water Supply and Drainage Station.

They, regarding it as their duty to take care of the war veterans who defended the country at the cost of their lives, have devoted their sincerity to her like her real children. Receiving the birthday spread, Kang was moved to tears and hugged them with impression. At that moment the photographer pressed the shutter of camera.

The touching "family photograph" was born like this.

8-year-long Devotion

In December last year some people sent off a resident in Unsan County Jong Sol Gyong in Pyongyang. They are Kim Yon Ok residing in Sopho-dong No.1 of Hyongjesan District and other Pyongyangites.

Jong Sol Gyong came to know Kim Yon Ok eight years ago. Then the former entered a hospital due to a serious illness by an unexpected accident. Kim made Jong’s acquaintance when she visited her daughter. Hearing that Jong might have not been able to walk, Kim Yon Ok took care of Jong sincerely. Kim encouraged her not to lose hope and, when Jong made a stride miraculously, she was all gladness.

Afterwards Kim Yon Ok, being informed that Jong was going to marry, paid a visit to Jong to celebrate her marriage. When Jong came to Pyongyang to receive treatment, Kim consulted a convenience of Jong and provided her with winter clothes, too.

Leaving Pyongyang amid warm send-off, Jong Sol Gyong made a pledge to do more good deeds for the benevolent society in which beautiful traits are prevalent.
