-Sangwonam Gingko Tree

The Sangwonam gingko tree is a male tree in the yard of Sangwon Hermitage of Pohyon Temple in Mt Myohyang. The Sangwonam gingko tree and Myohyangsan pine tree are growing side by side.
They say that a Buddhist monk planted the gingko tree sapling in about 1895 and took care of it.
The tree’s height is 20.3m, the girth of its root-neck is 2.2m, the girth of its lower part is 1.8m, and the width of its crown is 12m from its east to west and 9m from its north to south. The bark of its stem is light grey.
The Sangwonam gingko tree grows on the place 600m high above the sea, which is the highest place among the places of gingko trees in our country.
-Myohyangsan Pine Tree
The Myohyangsan pine tree also grows in the yard of Sangwon Hermitage in Mt Myohyang 600m high above the sea.
People say that the tree was planted in about 1410.
Its height is 15.3m, the girth of its root-neck 3.7m, the girth of its low part is 3.27m and the width of its crown is 13.8m.
Its bark is reddish and peculiar.
