Officials and working people in Pyongyang Municipality have briskly made a preparation for creating beautiful green landscape in the municipality true to the intention of the Workers’ Party of Korea to further spruce up Pyongyang Municipality, the capital city of the DPRK, into the picturesque city and to turn all the country into socialist fairyland modelling after Pyongyang.

According to an official of the afforestation department of the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee, the designing for green landscape was made and the preparation for it is going on.

Also the works are being promoted in cooperation with the relevant designing institutions to build new sports parks on Kumran and Unha islets in the Pothong River and create particular green landscapes around them.

And the preparations for planting turfs and trees in 10-odd sections in the basin of the River Pothong under the sencod-stage plan for improving the ecological environment of the Pothong River are nearing completion.

Meanwhile, the preparations for laying out the turf-made blocks in the parkings and footways are hastened for increasing the greenery, while pushing ahead with the works for renewing the roof greening and planting the roadside trees.
