Taekwon-Do is martial art unique to our country which shows spirit of our people.

From olden times traditional martial arts were handed down in our country.

Our people have regarded it as natural course and pride to learn martial art and provided precious tradition.

They hardened their body by practicing the martial arts normally and, when the country was involved in a war, they fought against the aggressors by dint of martial arts they trained.

Taekwon-Do was born and developed in the area of Pyongyang as the center and inherited and developed traditional martial arts movements.

Taekwon-Do has developed widely and vigorously thanks to the great love of the peerlessly great persons and the persistent policy of the DPRK government.

Decades ago, our country built the biggest Taekwon-Do Hall in the world which was equipped with everything necessary for Taekwon-Do training and matches.

Many international championships and cultural exchange between masters of martial arts of different countries took place there.

In the present century, our country built the Taekwon-Do Holy House to show the origin and development history of Taekwon-Do and widely spread it.

The birthplace of Taekwon-Do is Pyongyang.

Our country has firm foundation to spread Taekwon-Do.

The system to teach Taekwon-Do to people was established across the country.

Taekwon-Do is being widely spread at home and abroad.

Many Taekwon-Do national associations were organized in other countries and tens of millions of Taekwon-Doists performed their activities.

In our country the Taekwon-Do players display their talents to the full.

In the paramilitary parade on the occasion of the 65th founding anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea the Taekwon-Do players and masters marched through Kim Il Sung Square in fine array and, through this, the whole world came to know our Taekwon-Do well.

The DPRK Taekwon-Do players won 64 gold medals and 31 cups and came first in the countries’ standings at the 22nd Taekwon-Do World Championships last year.

Now, our Taekwon-Do players set the high training target to demonstrate the dignity and prestige of our country all over the world and are implementing them strenuously.

The whole country is overflowed with vigorous and optimistic atmosphere of training Taekwon-Do. The Taekwon-Do activities are being conducted briskly from the first day of sports.

The DPRK takes all measures to develop sports and, as part of it, the work to develop Taekwon-Do is being conducted vigorously.
