The 9th Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea (SWUK) was held in the DPRK on Jan. 23.

Present there were members and alternate members of the SWUK Central Committee, with the attendance of women’s union officials from the capital city and regions as observers

The enlarged plenary meeting discussed the issue of thoroughly implementing the resolutions of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the issue of carrying through the tasks advanced in the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un’s important speech made at the 5th National Conference of Mothers, and other issues.

Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the C.C., SWUK, made a report on the topics of discussion.

The reporter stressed that the historic works of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un serve as the great action program pushing the overall development of socialist construction to a new leap forward and as the powerful weapon of struggle adding to the fighting spirit of all the people with full confidence in their own strength and cause.

She pointed out that the respected General Secretary clarified tasks and ways for more vigorously conducting the union work, including the issue for working people’s organizations to efficiently perform the ideological education of their members and establish tough discipline and order within the organizations.

She analyzed and reviewed last year’s work of women’s union organizations and referred to the ways for boosting the role of the women’s union in this year’s struggle.

The reporter called on all the women’s union members to dedicate all their wisdom, strength and passion to the patriotic cause for the victory of Korean-style socialism, fully aware of their mission for the times and their revolutionary duty as mothers.
