Why She Came to Pyongyang Again

Several days ago in January, Sin Hye Yong, a resident in Hoechang County, was on her way to Pyongyang by bus.

Actually, she had been urgently carried to the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital with a sudden illness several months before. At that time, she had been so serious that she and her family members had abandoned themselves despair.

However, medical workers of the hospital devoted their sincerity to her and finally, she had a miraculous recovery.

In the hospital, Sin keenly realized the benevolence of the grateful socialist public health system.

All the same, she couldn’t appreciate the benevolence of the socialist system to the full.

One January day Jon Myong Il, a doctor of the hospital, made a phone call for her. Several months have passed since her discharge and she was so glad to hear the voice of the medical worker.

The doctor acquainted himself with the state of her health and offered her to have a medical examination in Pyongyang.

In fact, when she had left hospital several months before, the medical workers of the hospital had recommended her to be examined again after some months to be sure. But she forgot it as she became better day after day. However, the doctors who concerned themselves about her health and offered her medical examination. Thus, she came back to Pyongyang in three months after she left the hospital.

The story shows the advantage of our socialist public health system which values most the people’s life and health.

Friendly Honk

Many years ago, Kim Yong Nam, a busman of Singye County Automobile Station, was behind the wheel when he saw some pupils of Thaeul Senior Middle School who were on their way to school. So he took them to school by bus and the pupils liked it very much. Such cases happened frequently since then and one day Kim Yong Nam received a letter of thanks from a teacher of the school for picking up the pupils to school.

That day the busman was determined to take in charge of the school commuting of pupils and he received a positive support of the station and the County Party Committee.

Since then, he has picked pupils up to school every morning with the conductor Kim Il Nyo, and other drivers of the station zealously followed him.

Last year, Kim Yong Nam was elected a deputy to the county people’s assembly and people call him "our deputy".

Amid Blessings of All People

One day early in January, there was a wedding ceremony of Ku Kwang Chol and Won Song Gum, the youth sub-workteam members, at the Omgot Farm in Anak County.

It was a significant day in their lifetime, but bride Won was moved to tears at the thought of the thankful persons who had devoted their sincerities to parentless Won.

Won has led a worthwhile working life to the full, not knowing the sorrow of being an orphan, under the care of the collective and comrades.

Officials of the farm and youth sub-workteam members have always paid deep attention to her living while giving her cosmetics, working clothes, shoes and daily necessaries.

And the manager of the farm and his wife prepared a bridal costume, household articles and kitchen utensils for her with parental affection while providing her with the tidy dwelling house.

The members of sub-workteam, too, strove for the preparations for the wedding ceremony of Ku and Won.

On their wedding day, Ku and Won made a deep bow before the officials and farmers of the farm, expressing their gratitude to them.
