Preparations are brisk in the DPRK ahead of the 2nd People’s Art Festival for celebrating the Day of the Shining Star (the birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il).

The festival is a grand political art festival in reflection of the boundless loyalty of the Korean people to glorify the immortal revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il for all ages.

The festival organizing committee displayed posters and flags symbolic of the festival in different parts of the capital city of Pyongyang from early February to highlight the character and significance as a festival in praise of the great man and rev up the festive atmosphere.

Great attention has been paid to ensuring the ideological and artistic level of the festival.

Detailed organizational outline for the festival including the themes and forms of works to be presented to the festival was worked out and a preliminary examination for selecting the participating units was made on a high level.

The performance organizations are now refining their works in close cooperation with the festival organizing committee.
