At the 2024 Asian Weightlifting Championships, men and women players of the DPRK are winning one victory after another, flying the national flag of the DPRK.

Player Ri Chong Song took the first place in the men’s 81 kg category on Feb. 7, lifting 169 kg in snatch, 200 kg in jerk and 369 kg in total, bagging three gold medals at the championships.

On the same day, Song Kuk Hyang lifted 115kg in snatch, 154 kg in jerk and 269 kg in total, coming first in the women’s 71kg category.

Song Kuk Hyang renewed the world record set by a Chinese player in jerk.

As a result, the DPRK players set 12 new world records in total in women’s weightlifting, making the DPRK top in the country standings.

On Feb. 8, Jong Chun Hui lifted 111 kg in snatch, 125 kg in jerk and 236 kg in total in the women’s 76kg category, winning three gold medals.

Thus all the 11 men and women players of the DPRK won gold medals in the 2024 Asian Weightlifting Championships.
