Symposium of Social Scientists Held in DPRK

A symposium of social scientists took place on Friday to deeply grasp and embody the idea and spirit of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).

Present there were Thae Hyong Chol, president of the Academy of Social Sciences, officials, teachers and researchers in the fields of science, education and Party cadre training institutions.

Read out at the symposium were papers deeply explaining and proving the theoretical and practical issues arising in deeply grasping the idea and spirit of the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee and thoroughly applying them. They were written by Choe Un Ho, head of a department of the Central Cadre Training School of the WPK, Pak Jong Chol, dean of a faculty of Kim Il Sung University, Ri Tae Nam, head of a department of University of National Economy, and So Song Il, director of an institute of the Academy of Social Sciences.

Speakers said that the historic 2023 December Plenary Meeting of the Party Central Committee was a political event which injected the extraordinary vitality in the general onward march towards the overall prosperity of the state and provided a milestone for great changes.

They explained in depth the basic idea and spirit of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee on waging a more dynamic struggle for attaining the goal of struggle set forth by the 8th Party Congress, uniting with patriotism.

They said that it is the important duty of social scientists at present to dynamically lead the struggle for implementing the resolutions of the 2023 December Plenary Meeting of the Party Central Committee.

They called for dynamically conducting theoretical information activities to firmly arm all members of society with the idea and spirit of the plenary meeting and actively arouse them to implement them.
