The Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea has raised effectiveness of the ideological work to the maximum in each sector and unit which plays important roles in the national economic development so as to encourage the fighting spirit of the masses who have turned out in the drive for implementing the resolutions set forth at the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

In January, officials and members of the Workers’ Art Group of the GFTUK Central Committee went to various coal mines in the coal industrial sector, an outpost for the development of the self-supporting economy to wage the powerful front-style political work.

The officials dispatched to the Jagang Provincial Supply Coal Mine under the Kaechon Area Coal-mining Complex handed over the supply materials they prepared with sincerity to the colliers and conducted an intensive political work while working with them.

The members of the Workers’ Art Group of the GFTUK Central Committee launched the vigorous agitations among the colliers for four times with 20-odd programs including witticism and magic.

The officials conducted the political work in an effective way at the coal face No.8 of the Namyang Coal Mine in the Tokchon Area Coal-Mining Complex to ensure that the colliers wage stubborn struggle for attaining the coal production goal advanced by the Party, bearing deep in mind the importance of the coal industrial sector in the country’s economic development.

Also those who went to the Ryongdung Coal Mine in the Kujang Area Coal-Mining Complex and the Kangdong Coal Mine in the Kangdong Area Coal-Mining Complex aroused the productivity zeal of the colliers while doing hewing work with them in the coal faces.

Meanwhile, the GFTUK Central Committee organized the significant intensive agitation and visual motivation competitions of the trade union and primary information officials in Pyongyang Municipality.

The officials and primary information officials of the trade union organizations of Pyongyang Municipality, the Cabinet, the Ministry of Railways and the Pyongyang Construction Commission displayed intensively the red flags and visual aids and conducted artistic motivation of various forms reflecting the requirements of the Party’s policies and the times to arouse the builders to performing fresh feats.

Meanwhile, the trade union organizations at all levels carried on the intensive political work and agitation at the major factories and enterprises.
