Agricultural workers and members of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) met at the Samjigang-ri House of Culture in Jaeryong County of South Hwanghae Province on Feb. 14 to celebrate the 82nd birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Present there were Min Sung Chol, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), Pak Thae Sop, secretary of the South Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the WPK, officials concerned, officials of the UAWK and agricultural workers.

Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the UAWK, made a report to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers noted that Chairman Kim Jong Il energetically guided the UAWK to fulfill its mission and duty in every period and at every stage of the developing revolution in the forefront for building the socialist countryside and improving the people’s living standard.

His immortal revolutionary career and exploits are shining more brilliantly under the guidance of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, they said.

They referred to the fact that under the energetic guidance of the General Secretary, a grand struggle is going on to implement the Regional Development 20×10 Policy and the new programme for rural revolution for bringing about epochal changes in the regional areas and achieving the rapid development of the socialist countryside in our own way.

They called for adding eternal brilliance to the patriotic exploits of Kim Jong Il, rallied close around Kim Jong Un as one and attaining without fail the grain production goal set by the Party in the new spirit of the times, the Chollima spirit of the new era and thus glorifying this year with rich harvest of grain.
