Kwangdong Senior Middle School in Jongju City has planted good species of fruit trees around it in a large number, creating an orchard.

This adds to the almamaterism of its pupils.

In front of the school building, groves of persimmon trees are planted while fruit trees involving pear, plum and peach etc. are planted in large quantity in the orchard behind the school building.

The trees reflect patriotism of the officials, teachers and pupils of the school.

Last year alone, the officials of the school secured fruit saplings of good species on their own forces. While planting the trees around the school with the pupils, the officials explained them the proud history of the region and school to implant in them with the attachment to their hometown and alma mater.

Besides, the pupils are building up sincerity and diligence toward labor from the childhood in the course of planting and tending the trees.

The pupils and their parents call the school “the school in the orchard” with affection.
