Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1 marked its 70th founding anniversary.

The 70-year history of the school is a glorious one associated with the energetic leadership and benevolent loving care of the peerlessly great men.

The great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung said about the construction of the school on Feb. 15, Juche 43 (1954). Then he visited the school nine times and gave tens of instructions to it and indicated the tasks to be regarded as guidelines in the education of the school.

Chairman Kim Jong Il saw to it that a new school was built on a bank of the Pothong River and, looking round the school on April 28, 1984, indicated the tasks and ways for fulfilling its mission as a training base for talented students.

With a deep insight into the importance of the school in the development of the education of gifted children, the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un sent modern educational equipment and cultural apparatuses to the school to play the vanguard role in the educational revolution in the new century and showed great loving care and benevolence.

A meeting took place on Feb. 14 to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the school.

Present at the meeting were Hong Chol Jin, secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and teaching staff and students of the school. The report was made by Pang Sung Son, principal of the school.

At the end of the meeting the participants went round the exhibition of educational and scientific achievements, enjoyed an art performance and conducted political and cultural work.
