The Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex has achieved a success conducive to strengthening independence of the metallurgical industry.

Upholding the Party’s strategy of readjustment and reinforcement, the officials and working class of the complex set the brave plan to decrease the production cost of iron and steel by realizing the curved-type plate strand casting on their own, and they have vigorously pushed ahead with it since last year.

Under the guidance of the Party organization the officials of the complex held dozens of consultative meetings and solved the arising problems in realizing the strand casting, thus arousing creativity of the technical group and workers to the full.

The research group of an institute of Kim Chaek University of Technology developed the most rational system for perfect automatic operation of overall casting process such as crystallizer, the core part of strand-casting machine and pushed forward with the manufacture and introduction of accessory parts and test-production.

The officials and workers of the complex and the teachers of the Songrim Metal Technical College made a great contribution to perfecting the overall casting process by pooling their mind and efforts.

The complex has achieved great profits from the curved-type plate strand-casting.

Now the officials and working class of the complex put continuous spurs to the struggle for further increasing iron and steel production and consolidating the production foundation.
