Culture 2024.2.26.

All the people in the DPRK observed the first full moon day (January 15th of the lunar calendar), a folk holiday.

Every region of the country, beautiful with Korean-style taste and fragrance and vibrant with creation of new socialist civilization and new life, was overflowing with the people’s joy and emotion of enjoying folk holiday.

At the Rangnang Museum in the capital city of Pyongyang, citizens and youth and students enjoyed themselves with various folk games including archery, keenly realizing that the time-honored history, brilliant culture and excellent national traditions of the nation are being preserved and shining under the warm care of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Performances for working people were given at the Samjiyon Theatre, the National Theatre and the Magic Theatre of the National Acrobatic Troupe in Pyongyang and theatres in Hamhung and Wonsan cities and other areas of the country.

The Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum, the Mirim Riding Club, the Munsu Water Park, the People’s Open-air Ice Rink and other recreation grounds were crowded with working people full of joy and optimism.

The festive mood was revved up by the happy faces of housewives who were preparing national dishes, those spending a pleasant time with chess and yut-game and children laughing and talking while flying kites.

The people, who enjoyed the holiday at homes in Kyongru-dong and Songhwa and Hwasong streets and modern houses in rural areas of the country erected under the loving care of the Party, expressed their firm resolve to build a socialist paradise envied by the world on this land.
