Kim Il Sung Square facing the Tower of the Juche Idea on the bank of the Taedong River in Pyongyang, is situated in Central District.
Kim Il Sung Square conveys ever-victorious history of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The square witnessed many important political and cultural events, galas, mass rallies and military parades: the military parade in celebration of the 8th anniversary of national liberation on August 15, 1953; the mass rallies of Pyongyang citizens in celebration of the 30th founding anniversary of the DPRK on September 10, 1978; the military parade and mass rallies on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea on October 10, 1995; and the military parade in celebration of the 100th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung on April 15, 2012.
A grand military parade took place in the presence of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, on July 27, Juche 112(2023), in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
Kim Il Sung Square is well known to the world and it makes our people picture rosy future of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, which is ever victorious.
