Several years ago, Nam Kwang Hyok, a doctor of the Hamhung Orthopedic Hospital, took charge of a disabled soldier of thirties.

His condition was very serious; his one leg was shortened 16 centimeters due to the femur chronic osteomyelitis lingered for a long period.

Nam had rich experiences but the disabled soldier’s case was different.

Up to that time, there was no precedent that a patient in severe deficit of leg bone was recovered.

The modern medical science was failing to make any conclusions on the patient except cutting.

But he could not be at rest at the thought that the future of a human being would be influenced by his surgical knife.

Thus he decided to find out the remedy without fail and continued the research.

He read a lot of modern medical books and also synthesized the data on the patients whom he had treated in the last period.

On the basis of it, he buckled down to the treatment with the method suited to the patient’s constitution and the actual conditions in our country.

Whenever he became tired, he repeated the treatment overcoming the difficulties while thinking of the patient’s pain first.

Other medical workers, too, devoted their sincerity to the patient.

Thanks to their utmost sincerity, the patient was recovered at last and thus he could walk.

After seeing his clinical chart which recorded in detail the 10-odd big or small operations and tens of times of experimental test processes, he expressed his violent passion that he would devote all to the grateful socialist country.

The medical workers of the hospital showed again with the spirit of devoted service for the good of the people and boundless devotion that there is no incurable diseases in the world when a doctor has warm love for human being and shows utmost sincerity to the patients.
