Meeting with Winners of Communist Mother Honor Prize in DPRK

Women’s union officials and members Tuesday met with the winners of Communist Mother Honor Prize at the Hall of Women here on the occasion of the 114th International Women’s Day.

Present there were Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea, officials of the women’s union and union members in Pyongyang Municipality.

At the meeting, the winners of Communist Mother Honor Prize extended profound thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for adding glory to the life of ordinary women who merely fulfilled their duties as citizens.

Ri Yong Hui, whose daughters are the world weightlifting champions, told in an excited tone that she implanted in her children’s mind that to repay the benevolence of the Workers’ Party of Korea with gold medals is to become good daughters and fulfill their duty they assumed for the country as sportswomen.

Kim Hui Suk living in Kwangmyong-dong, Unjong District of Pyongyang Municipality, whose children got master’s and doctor’s degrees in their 20s, expressed her deep thanks to the Party for inviting her to the Fifth National Conference of Mothers and conferring Communist Mother Honor Prize on her.

A story told by Kim Yong Ok, a worker of the Songgan County Goat Farm in Jagang Province who became mother of orphans, also deeply touched the audience.

Ko Ryon Sun, a woman living in Toksan-ri, Jongphyong County of South Hamgyong Province, ardently called upon all mothers to instill the soul and spirit of the victorious wartime generation into their children and fulfill their responsibility as the first educators and teachers of their children so as to bring up their sons and daughters to be pillars of a powerful country and let them stand guard at the posts for defending the country.
