The DPRK players came first in the countries’ standings of the 22nd Taekwon-Do World Championships held in in Astana, Kazakhstan in August last year.

Among them was Ho Yong Ju, chief coach of the Nampho Municipality Taekwon-Do Team.

Ho, a 49 year-old woman, won the gold medals at the matches the veteran category (gold level).

When she had heard the news that she would take part in the Taekwon-Do Championships, she could not fall asleep with anxiety.

Because she could not easily make a determination with the thought that she must do exercise overcoming the physical exhaustion and leave her home for several months although she was a housewife.

Being informed of her thinking, Head of the team Mun Jong Sok had encouraged her saying that they were sportspersons to display the dignity and honor of the country with gold medals.

His speaking had made her become enthusiastic in training.

Other officials and players as well as her husband Jong Sung Bok had requested Ho to hoist the national flag in the World Championships.

Therefore she had not lost her strength even when she had got her knees hurt in the training.

As she had trained hard with the mind to give a report of victory to the motherly Party, she could capture four gold medals at the championships.

The Party which had valued her success had invited her as a delegate to the 5th National Conference of Mothers.

Four gold medals she gained – herein lies gemmy patriotic minds of our women to repay the love and trust of the grateful country with devoted efforts.
