U.S. Branded as Accomplice in Massacre of Civilians

2024.3.9.

Ri Kwang Song, an international affairs analyst of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, issued the following article titled "'Judge' sitting in the dock":

The U.S. is notorious for forcing member states of the United Nations to observe its arbitrary "standards" and "regulations", posing as the "judge" of the world.

It is none other than the U.S. which tries to put the countries which do not obey it in the "dock", quite often branding them as "harassers of peace", "human rights abusers", "rogue states" and "revisionist states" and others.

Some days ago, there happened a tragicomedy in which such dignified "judge" was put in the "dock".

A plenary meeting of the UN General Assembly was held on March 4 and 5 to explain the reason why the U.S. recently vetoed the Security Council’s resolution on effecting an immediate ceasefire in Gaza Strip in accordance with a resolution adopted in April 2022.

At the meeting many UN member states bitterly denounced that the U.S. issued a murder license to Israel by exercising veto in defiance of the appeal of the international community demanding the end of the bloodshed and not content with this, it has incited Israel’s racial extinction with arms and ammunition supply, revealing its true colors as an accomplice with Israel in massacre of civilians before the whole world, far from styling itself a "defender of human rights".

The U.S. insignificantly explained the reason why it used its veto as a relevant resolution submitted by Algeria could not lead to sustainable peace but hindered the hostage release and the provisional armistice negotiations. But this absurd excuse only invited criticism and derision from the international community.

It is, indeed, a due insult.

In fact, the U.S. invented the system of explaining the reason for the use of the veto by craftily using the psychology of the international community calling for a reform of the UNSC, with a sinister intention to drive those countries, which are opposed to its high-handed and arbitrary practices, into a tight corner.

At the UNSC meetings on the Ukrainian and Syrian issues, etc., the U.S. failed to attain its sinister purpose because of a permanent member state’s exercise of its veto. So the U.S. held a plenary meeting of the UN General Assembly, at which it incited collective pressure while talking about the "irresponsibility", and even cried out for depriving a permanent member state of its position as a permanent member state.

But the situation has changed due to the Middle East situation last year.

The indiscriminate military attacks of Israel are killing many Palestinian civilians even at this moment, and Gaza Strip has been turned into a slaughterhouse and living hell.

The international community is being stunned by such horrible humanitarian tragedy and even its allies are turning their backs on the U.S. patronizing Israel.

However, the U.S. unhesitatingly vetoed the unanimous demand of the international community, thus stamping out even the slight hope of the international community to stop the bloodshed in Gaza Strip and sitting itself in the "dock" it made.

In the final analysis, it fell into the pit it dug for another and proved that it is the very one to be ousted from the UNSC.

It is quite natural that an empire of evils which does not hesitate to sacrifice international peace and security for geopolitical purposes, a country seeking only its selfish purpose whether the destiny of mankind is endangered or not, is judged by the international community.

The U.S. should no longer act as an impudent "judge", becoming the laughingstock of the world but lend an ear to the voice of the international community.
