There are various weathering pits in Mt Kumgang as well as colorful natural sceneries which enhance the beauty of sceneries of the mountain.

Some weathering pits in the mountain have touristic value as their appearances are very peculiar.

Typical examples are weathering pits like sunbeams and honeycomb, groups of weathering pits of Sonjo Rock, Sujong and Pari peaks, etc.

Different plants and animals grow in weathering pits of the peaks made up of big rocks, which is one of the spectacular sights of Mt Kumgang drawing great attention of people.

Water always stays in the weathering pits in Sujong and Pari peaks on the top of mountain. And salamanders, Rana ornativentris, etc. live there.

Some weathering pits are full of earth and pines and different plants grow there.
