World Federation of Trade Unions Supports Struggle of DPRK People

2024.3.12.

A regular meeting of the Presidential Council of the World Federation of Trade Unions held in San Paulo City, Brazil adopted a solidarity resolution supporting the just struggle of the working class and trade union members of the DPRK on March 2.

The resolution said that the struggle of the Korean working class and trade union members is a just struggle for achieving the prosperity and development of the country and building genuine socialism, in which the genuine life and well-being of the laboring masses are ensured, despite all kinds of difficulties and obstacles.

It extended full support to the working class and trade union members in the DPRK struggling in unity with patriotism for building a comprehensively developed and rich socialist power, where the people enjoy a happy life, under the wise guidance of Comrade Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

It referred to the fact that the U.S. is running amuck to ignite a nuclear war aimed at stifling socialist Korea by force in collusion with its followers, adding that the situation on the Korean peninsula has reached the brink of a nuclear war, arousing great concern of the international community.

The resolution further said:

We vehemently denounce and reject the bellicose and self-destructive confrontation policy against the DPRK people persistently pursued by the U.S., Japan and the ROK.

The World Federation of Trade Unions appeals to all its member organizations and friendly organizations and progressive trade union organizations in the world to positively turn out in the anti-imperialist joint action and joint struggle against the U.S. and its vassal forces and extend invariable support and firm solidarity to the just struggle of the working class and trade union members of the DPRK for achieving the prosperity and development of the country, the well-being of the people and the protection of sovereignty.
