A seminar was held at the National Theatre on March 11 to mark the 40th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il’s guidance over the revolutionary drama "Blood at an International Conference".

Present there were Jo Kyong Jun, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Sung Jong Gyu, minister of Culture, Kim In Bom, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of the Unions of Art and Literature of Korea, officials concerned, creators, artistes, teachers, researchers and students in the fields of stage art, education and social science.

Speeches were made by Choe Thae Yong, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of the Unions of Art and Literature of Korea, Ri Hyon Sun, researcher at the Academy of Social Sciences, Song Hak Song, secretary general of the Central Committee of the Theatrical Workers Union of Korea, and Ri Ji Yong, head of the National Theatrical Troupe.

The speakers called for adding luster to the immortal exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il, who set forth a new policy on effecting a revolution in production of dramas and energetically led the work for producing Korean-style dramas, and for thoroughly applying to the practice of creation the unique aesthetic idea of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

The speakers pointed out that the above-said drama could be successfully completed as a masterpiece of the times under the guidance of the great teacher who sent precious historical data necessary for creating the work and gave meticulous guidance to its music as well as many scenes of the work.

They stressed the need to usher in a new heyday of the development of the Juche-oriented dramatic art in the new century by thoroughly embodying the original aesthetic idea of Kim Jong Un.

They vowed to produce more dramas on the theme of the realities, which have a firm political standard and are loved by the people, so as to give vitality to the general advance for implementing the resolutions of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and realizing the Regional Development 20×10 Policy and continue to enhance the elated spirit of the masses.
