Boats Start Going out Fishing in Fisheries of DPRK

Fishery stations in South Phyongan Province and Nampho Municipality in the DPRK have set out on fishing for this year.

The South Phyongan Provincial Fishery Management Bureau mapped out a proper plan for repairing fishing boats and tackle, organized an experience-sharing meeting for generalizing the successes made in updating fishing equipment, thus finishing the preparations for fishing in time.

Mundok and Hanchon fishery stations let their employees thoroughly observe technical regulations in preparing for fishing. The Kamapho Fishery Station and other fishery stations have secured enough fishing nets and carrying containers.

The workers of the Nampho Fishery Station also launched fishing.

Officials of the station introduced an efficient fishing area monitoring system into all ships so as to put fishing on a scientific basis and provided them with enough engine parts and efficient fishing gear.

Launching ceremonies were held at the stations on Wednesday.

Ri Song Bom, chairman of the South Phyongan Provincial People’s Committee, and other officials, employees and families in the relevant regions and stations saw off the boats going out for fishing.
