Impression Work-team Head Received

One February day Ri Song Chol, head of workteam No.3 of the Janggyo Farm in Kangnam County, chanced to hear voice of Ri Hyon Song, head of the sub-workteam No.4, at a field in charge of the sub-workteam when looking round the fields of his workteam.

At that time, Ri Hyon Song, who is a discharged soldier, criticized himself before the members of his sub-workteam that he failed to educate the members in collective spirit and lead them well, saying in low voice as follows:

"It is an axiom that the incoherent collective cannot achieve any successes, for example in the volleyball match held yesterday."

Listening to him, the workteam head recollected the volleyball match.

The sub-workteam No. 4 was defeated in the match against the team of workteam.

The reason was attributable to the lack of team spirit.

Telling he felt that there was a problem in unity of the sub-workteam through the match, he stated that his sub-workteam lacked the collective spirit, the basis of unity.

Subsequently to him, Ri Un Byol, instigator of the sub-workteam, said that the individualism infringes upon the collective’s interests and hinders its unity, and in the past, she had failed to put to right wrong tendencies revealed in the sub-workteam in good time.

The members of the sub-workteam, too, vied with each other to conduct self-criticisms and proposed their opinions.

Observing their discussion for the unity of the sub-workteam, the work-team head could hardly repress his emotion.

The unity of the sub-workteam brings good farming results.

He had a confidence that the sub-workteam No. 4 closely united in single intention would bring a good success in this year’s farm.

Why She Called on Farm Official

It was one January day when Manageress Yun Sun Hui of the Sokmi Farm in Haeju City guided the study of the farmers enrolled in the tele-education system.

Suddenly O Myong Sun, head of the sub-workteam No.1, called on Yun and told her that she also wanted to be a student.

Adding that O keenly felt that the experience they got in the last year’s farming proved that farming depends on science and technology not on climate conditions, she said that in the future, too, advanced farming method should be introduced into the practice, but it was tantalizing that her level of knowledge failed to measure up to its introduction.

Yun readily supported O’s determination that she would study for possessing the high knowledge and technology, though she is a housewife.

A few days later, Kim Chol Ho, a managerial official, also was determined to learn hard like the young people, though he is at an advanced age.

Thus some officials and farmers received the affiliation letters for the tele-education faculty of Haeju Kim Je Won University of Agriculture on a same day in January.

Reflected in the letters was the high patriotic zeal of our agricultural workers who are eager to actively contribute to the agricultural development by dint of deeper sci-tech knowledge.

Farmers’ Cultural Level Enhances

It happened one rest day not long ago at the Wonhwa Farm in Phyongwon County.

From the morning farmers of the farm enjoyed themselves at the Wonhwa Health Complex, public service facility of the ri-seat.

Kim Hak Chol, an official of the farm, also went to the Wonhwa Health Complex and heard voices of farmers who came out of the barbershop.

One man said: "Your hairstyle looks very good. Barbers’ skills have improved, I think."

Another man made agreeable response: "That’s right. You became handsome in a moment."

Pleasantly hearing their talks, Kim Hak Chol entered the barbershop and the barbers told him that they were impatient with failing to satisfy farmers’ requirement.

They asked him to let them receive a passing-on-technique at the barbershop in the township.

Feeling pride of the fact that farmers’ cultural level and requirement have been raised day by day, the official willingly complied with their request.

Kindly looking at the barbers being glad, the official pictured the farmers enjoying more civilized life in the future.
