Together We Are Strong

The work-team No. 4 at the Maejon Farm of Phyongwon County is famous in the farm for its rich harvest. The work-team over-fulfilled grain production plan last year, too.

Kim Kum Suk, head of the work-team, said that the greatest pride of her work-team is the collective spirit of helping and leading each other forward.

Among the proud innovators of the work-team is a farmer Pak Chang Sik who had been lag behind until a few years previously.

Then how could he become a worthy farmer?

Pak said that seeing the primary officials and other members of the work-team sincerely help his farming work and life and the aged pensioners turn out for farming work, he blamed himself and determined to work heart and soul for the farm.

Like this the work-team members have helped and led each other forward conscious of being masters of the work-team and become famous as the unit with strong fighting efficiency.

All the members of the work-team No. 4 also take the lead in the public labor of the Maejon Farm and in the work for assisting other work-teams.

Inventors Increase

These days the Belt Pit of the Ryongdung Coal Mine introduces technical innovations through mass movement.

In particular, ordinary workers make many valuable inventions and propose creative ideas.

Newcomer Ko Kum Jin, a discharged soldier, said that all the members of the pit put forward him as an inventor but such successes were unthinkable without selfless help of the collective.

Ri Kyong Son and other inventors unanimously told that their successes were brought thanks to the collective’s sincere assistance.

Now the workers in the coal mine dynamically conduct the mass technical innovation drive displaying the collectivist spirit.

Sharing Joy and Sorrow with Others

One February night, some soldiers who were wounded by an unexpected accident in the discharge of their military duty were brought to the hospital in Tongchang County.

Then, all the medical workers of the hospital devoted their sincerity to saving them.

Jong Chol Min and other medical workers nursed the patients with their whole heart and they organized the doctor’s consultative meeting several times to bring about a cure.

And many people in the county visited the hospital with materials for tonics and special dishes to encourage the patients; among them were leading officials of the county, ordinary people residing in Taeyu Workers’ District and servicemen’s families.

Thanks to their efforts, the patients got better and they could return to their post in good health.

Indeed, their devotion to the soldiers is reflection of our society in which people regard sacrificing oneself for others as a noble virtue and beautiful deed, and help and support others sharing joy and sorrow with others.
