There are lots of rare and beautiful natural monuments in our country.

Among them is the Phojung Pine Tree in Phoha-ri of Myongchon County, believed to be planted in about 1630.

Its inhabitants call it "sunshade pine" as its shape is delicate and beautiful and looks like a parasol.

The tree is 12 meters in height with 3.2 meters in collar round, 2.8 meters in girth and its crown extends 15 meters east and west and 18 meters north and south respectively.

In particular, its pinecone is small and has no seed.

The Phojung Pine Tree is a precious natural monument which is of significance in a scholastic and scenic way.
