Manager’s "Family Notebook"

A few days ago, an employee of the Unpha County Cereal Administration Agency was returning home after the daily work.

Suddenly he was called by Manager Kwon Kil Chol.

Handing over a package to him the manager said:

"Happy birthday to you. I was late a little for my business trip. Have a pleasant time together with your family."

At the moment the employee was surprised to think how the manager could remember his birthday. He recollected the manager’s small notebook called "Family Notebook," recording employees’ birthdays, characters and hobbies.

The manager has often visited employees’ houses to learn in detail about the living conditions even opening the pot lid. If the manager finds a man with a gloomy look he learns about his problem to solve it.

Like this the manager devotes everything to the employees. So the agency won the title of Twice Three-Revolution Red Flag.

Looking at the tenderhearted manger, the employee felt great pride of being a member of the collective full of love and affection.

Helping and Caring for One Another

Not long ago, Ra Yong Ae’s house was visited by housewives of the neighborhood unit No.42 in Thapje-dong No.1, Taedonggang District.

They congratulated the university entrance of Ra’s son. Choe Hyon Ok, head of the neighborhood unit, and other members gave Ra various kinds of school things carrying sincerity.

One Sunday members of the neighborhood unit were out to spruce up Ra’s house ahead of her son’s returning after discharging military service.

That day Ra’s house was full of joys and laughs all day long.

The people in the neighborhood unit unanimously say that they are like a large family.

Such good deeds are common in the neighborhood unit.

When a parentless girl of the unit got married, the members of the unit prepared a wedding reception and kitchen utensils for the bride.

The harmonious unit was honored with the title of Thrice July 11 Red-flag Neighborhood Unit of Loyalty and last year the neighborhood unit members toured Mt Myohyang with the pride of being a model in the municipality.

Through the touching story of the harmonious neighborhood unit, we can feel the noble spiritual world of our people helping and leading one another forward.

Story Told by Worker-students

It happened a few days ago when we visited the Pyongyang Plastic Building Materials Factory.

Its official conducted us to worksite saying that it is a good time.

At that time, a worker of the repair and maintenance work-team was preparing a trial run of the new equipment he had created.

On the way to the worksite the official told us that the enthusiasm for inventing new technologies was getting higher among the workers enrolled in the study-while-working educational system and in particular, Kim Yun Min in the repair and maintenance work-team who invented new equipment was one of them.

At the worksite, many employees gazed at the new equipment.

After a while, the trial run was conducted ordered by the official and each face of the employees was full of joy of success.

After the trial run, everybody warmly congratulated Kim.

Kim Yun Min said to us that the achievement was unthinkable without the study-while-working educational system, adding that teachers of the Sosong University of Technology have often visited the factory to give lectures.

Recently, dozens of worker-students were involved in the study-while-working system in the factory.

One of them is Kim Yong Guk, a worker of the vinyl pipe work-team, had contributed to face-lifting the working environment by inventing a new device several days before.

He said with emotion that he could be grown as skilled worker under the benefit of socialist system which provides all sort of conditions to everybody to learn while working and work while learning.

This was the unanimous voice of the worker-students, being called the treasures and talents of the factory.

Through their talks, we could deeply feel the advantage of socialism, and the mental world of our people who regards it as their due duty to devote their wisdom and zeal to the grateful motherland.
