Among the famous falls in the DPRK is Pakyon Falls located in Pakyon-ri, Kaesong City.

The Pakyon Falls is 37 meters high.

The pond called "Pakyon" is filled with clean water which runs down into the ravine between Songgo and Chollim mountains and the water falls over a rock wall.

Its landscape is beautiful and famous for its falling speed, loud water sound and wet fog by waterfall.

There is another pond named "Komodam" which is 120 meters round and 40 meters across below the falls.

And the falls has been known as one of three celebrities of Songdo with So Kyong Dok, a well-known philosopher of the 16th century, and a famous poetess Hwang Jin I.

The Pakyon Falls evokes visitors’ admiration for its elegance harmonized with rocks of fantastic shapes and forests around it as well as the fort on Mt Taehung, Kwanum Temple, etc.

Now the Pakyon Falls has wonderfully turned into a cultural recreation place of the people and famous tourist resort in Kaesong City, thus bringing pleasure to the visitors.
