The 59th National Schoolchildren’s Art Festival opened with due ceremony at the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace in the DPRK on April 8 to celebrate the significant April holiday.

The festival will be held, divided into a folk songs contest among art group members from schoolchildren’s palaces and halls, a schoolchildren art individual contest, and a joint art performance of schoolchildren from each province, with the attendance of more than 1 200 schoolchildren from across the country.

Present at the opening ceremony were officials in the field of extracurricular education and schoolchildren.
